So we announced this last week at the Turk's Head, but of course as usual we forgot to post it here until now. Typical!
When we introduced the price increase to €7 for Route 66, something we DID say when announcing it at the Turk's Head in the couple of weeks before it started but FORGOT to mention in our post here on Facebook was that we were going to *try* putting the price at €7 and see if that worked to cover our costs. Unfortunately, while it might work for us sometimes, it won't work for us all of the time (if it's a quieter night, which can happen for example during the summer). So we regretfully have decided to increase the price one last time to €8.
* We promise that THIS IS INDEED THE FINAL INCREASE, unless and until such a time in the future that the venue decide to increase their price for us.
* We have decided to keep the student rate at just €6. After all, we were students once too! Just be sure to have your student ID with you!!
* As you may know, we have different DJs who come in every week and play their own music from 10 to 11 p.m. This allows us to give others a chance to play some of their favourite tunes, but also mixes it up a bit for the dancers, as each DJ brings their own unique style. As it's a regular rotation that they commit to and we appreciate them for helping us out in this way, we pay them for their services, and have done for a few years now. Also, we now pay the venue an hourly rate, which means we are now doubly paying out for that final 10-11 p.m. hour. Because of this, we are now changing our door policy. Previously we had stopped charging entry at 10 p.m. We will now continue to charge entry until 10:30 p.m. HOWEVER, the door charge from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. will be just €4 (there will be no student concession on this rate). Since we pay for both the DJ and the venue at that time, we feel it is only fair for people arriving at that time to contribute to that rather than being subsidised by people who come earlier in the evening.
We apologise for having to make this change so soon after the last one, but we hope you all understand the reasons for it. Also, we think that, compared to other classes (whether other dances or other forms of exercise e.g. yoga), we still offer excellent value for money, and we hope you agree. :) Seriously, you just KNOW you have more fun with us than you do doing anything else! ;) Hey, you, stop giggling, you know that's not what I meant! (Typical Jamie...)
